Sahara Group proposes to purchase C Sivasankaran, the investor’s stakes, from its Aamby Valley City project, near Lonavala in Maharashtra. In 2007, Sivasankaran had invested about Rs 1,800 crore for 41 per cent stake in Aamby Valley. Sahara Group is the majority stakeholder, with 51 per cent stake.
Sivasankaran (Siva), who owns Sterling Infotech, had invested in Aamby Valley through his private investment arm, Siva Ventures Limited (SVL). Aamby Valley, spread over 10,000 acres, is being developed as an upmarket hill township near Lonavala.
Sivasankaran has interests in sectors such as telecom, shipping and logistics, media, renewable energy, infrastructure, township building, agriculture, food and wellness. |
