Asian Development Bank (ADB) has appointed Hun Kim as the new country director for India effective from February 1, 2010. He succeeds Tadashi Kondo, who is now ADB's Head of the Office of Co-financing Operations, based in the ADB headquarters in Manila, Philippines.
In his new position, Kim's will oversee and give directions to ADB's operations in India, while ensuring that they align with the priorities and objectives of the government and ADB's long-term development framework. His responsibilities also include promoting regional cooperation in South Asia, supporting public-private partnership initiatives of the government and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and other development partners in India.
He was previously director for urban development in ADB's South Asia department and was involved in promoting urban development through infrastructure financing and knowledge transfer. |
