Delphi Automotive Systems Pvt Ltd plans to expand its bouquet of localised products to cater to the Indian market. The company has already invested over $200 million to introduce new product lines, add plant capacity and enhance engineering capability. The company has an upcoming greenfield facility in Chennai, which is banking on the pick-up in small car segment. In 2009, the wholly-owned US subsidiary expanded the floor capacity of its technical centre in Bangalore.

Delphi's R&D centre is its global centre for vehicle product engineering on several competencies such as electronics product design and packaging, digital IC design, mechanical product design and modelling simulation.

First established to provide enhanced technologies to Indian original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), its reach has in due course been extended to global OEMs.
