The Chennai airport modernisation project worth Rs 2,300 crore being undertaken by Airports Authority of India (AAI) is likely to open on schedule without any delays. Due to issues with the Defence forces, minor structural changes have been made to ensure that the project is completed on time.
AAI had planned to make an air-condition plant room substation block in that space. However, now, the Authority has partially changed the layout of that area.
In the next stage of development of an integrated terminal, which will be after three to four years, the airport operator will demolish the existing domestic block to make another building. |
