  Cos to launch customised fertilisers

Following the Centre's decision to introduce a nutrient based subsidy (NBS) regime from April 1, Coromandel International Ltd (CIL), Tata Chemicals Ltd (TCL), Nagarjuna Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd (NFCL) and Deepak Fertilisers and Petrochemicals Corporation Ltd (DFPC) are amongs others who plan to launch customised fertiliser products.

TCL is investing Rs 60 crore in a 1.3 lakh tonne an annum (tpa) dedicated facility for production of customised fertilisers near its existing urea unit at Babrala (Uttar Pradesh).

CIL is investing in Rs 10 crore for a 50,000 tpa facility at Kakinada, which would be commissioned in June 2010. DPFC’s 1.2 lakh tpa unit will entail a capital cost of Rs 80 crore and is expected to come up by kharif 2011. NFCL is also in the process of establishing a customised fertiliser plant that is expected to come up by kharif 2011.
